About Kenneth

Kenneth R. Hoffman had an early aptitude for medicine and healing. He started his formal learning under the private tutelage of a Taoist medical master which began in 1991. He continues this close relationship with his mentor to this day with continued training and practice. This includes learning the art of Chinese healing through qi gong, herbology, and tui na (Chinese medical massage) and Tai Qi. He also spent 4 years in conventional medicine as an EMT and psychiatric technician dealing with violent patients and medical emergencies.

In 2004, he then went on to finish a 4 year Chinese medical school program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. The training was an intensive 4000 hour program that included both conventional medicine such as anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnosis but also nutrition, the use of herbal medicinals as well as in depth study of Chinese meridian theory and acupuncture. His internship was held not only at a busy midtown clinic but also at St John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers working with many difficult cases.

He holds licensure in both Rhode Island and Connecticut as well as national certifications in Oriental Medicine and Chinese Herbology. His specialty training has taken him throughout the US studying functional blood chemistry analysis and endocrinology, allergy elimination and advanced bioenergetic techniques of healing. He is a founding board member of the Institute for the Advancement of Clinical Thermography where he trains and certifies doctors in this emerging technology. He is a member of the American Association of Oriental Medicine, Connecticut Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Society and Nambutripads Allergy Research Foundation. He is a certified CPR/First Aid instructor for the American Red Cross and trains law enforcement officers and emergency personnel.

He is a currently pursuing a PhD in Alternative Medicine with research focusing on the prevention of breast cancer using Medical Infrared thermography and natural herbal medicinals. While his background is varied, the core of his approach to medicine is to bridge the ancient traditions of healing with modern medicine to provide each of his patients with individual care in a way that engages the innate healing abilities with proven science.
